Holocaust Education: The Southern Institute’s free anti-bias teacher training workshops are offered throughout the Gulf Coast South, including Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and the Florida panhandle. Workshops are recommended for middle and high school social studies and language arts teachers. Stipends are provided to teachers who attend. Community members are also welcome. Free study guides accompany each workshop. The program uses history to teach young people the moral imperative to speak out against prejudice.
