Social Studies Curriculum Framework (2006):
Grade 8: History
Strand: History
Standard 6: Students shall analyze significant ideas, events, and people in world, national, state, and local history and how they affect change over time.
H.6.8.38 Examine causes and consequences of genocide and ethnic cleansing (e.g.,
Armenia, Holocaust, Kosovo, Rwanda)
Grades 9-12: World History
Strand: Conflict and Compromise
Standard 4: Students shall analyze the effect of conflict and subsequent resolution in the world.
CC.4.WH.9: Investigate the world-wide effect of genocide in the 20th and 21st centuries using available technology (e.g., Armenia, Holocaust, Cambodia, Bosnia, Rwanda, Kosovo, Sudan).
These standards are mandatory in Arkansas.
